Nutley Storm Water Problem

The groundwater from the storm flowed into the basement window of this Nutley home and deposited some muddy contaminated water. Our SERVPRO rep suggested to the homeowner to replace the window wells with galvanized steel ones at least 18" high. Our team quickly vacuumed up the water and placed a dehumidifier hidden by the water softener to capture airborne moisture and drain it via the green hose. We explained to our customer that restoring a standard RH relative humidity level to the basement is essential to prevent mold growth and to preserve good indoor air quality.
